Just thought id say that on the whole i prefer using smite hex than remove hex, for areas where you are likely to get slowed once it is more useful because of the casting speed. However if you are running where there are alot of hexes then remove hex is probably better due to the recharge time.

I agree with you. The smite hex thing was pointed out to me last night while I was playing with my build. Smite takes half as long to cast but twice as long to recharge, so you have to use your judgment as to what will work best for you.

Thanks for the input!!

FYI:
Just to clarify, I do have a guild set up in game to accomodate those that would ike to be more closely associated with the academy. All interested are welcome to join. If you do want to join the guild, please leave your exisitng guild first and then post here or pm me to request an invite. If you catch me in game, we can do it there as well.

You do not however, have to join the guild to be a part of the academy. It just makes it a little easier to communicate with the group if you did join.

Secondly, due to the overwhelming interest, we are going to need to set up a schedule of sorts to try to assist everyone in getting some of the runs mapped and routes down. If anyone has any ideas let me know, I'm mostly available on the evening of Monday, Wednesday, Friday and then at varying times on the weekends (mostly all day Saturday). I was thinking we could start off with some of the easier runs for those that are new to running then move on to some harder runs like Doknar's shortly after that. For me, I'm thinking Friday evening (mountain standard time) would work best. If anyone else is available to show some of these runs, maybe they could post their availability.

Finally made a Drok run with diff build I've found on the forums here. Nothing new by any means which proves that impeccable timing is key to everything along with patience and strategy. I'll post the info on it tomorrow. (again, nothing special)

We keep getting new members in the academy! I look forward to more runs with you guys! Tommorrow night, I'll be around and maybe we can get a good group and do some more.

Welcome Wilheim, I sent an invite to the guild!

Love Guild Wars, Marhann's Grotto has the 15k Glad armor. Don't know where the Enchanters is.

On the run though, I can do it for you. You'll need to catch me when I'm on this evening hopefully. My pricing is on the first post in this thread.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just a note:

I hate it when you get screwed out of gold after you run someone! Especially after it is for such a pathetically small amount. Lucas The Holy (not!) took me for a measly 400g gold after I ran the Sanctum Cay mission, refused a trading session and switched to another location and would not reply.

Pathetic.

I'm done now...

Hi all

Well, this seems like a pretty good idea as I've somehow never got to grips with running (too busy farming, lol) so count me in guys

And in the meantime if anyone needs any help capping skills like "charge" etc, let me know as I've got most of them so am happy to help other cap 'em or do missions/quests etc - happy for you to add me to your friends lists if you like.

Will be in touch in game JaktUp to discuss (I'll not be joining the guild though as I'm in one with some IRL friends).

Cheers

Rich

This is a great idea. I'm willing to help teach the easier runs and I'd LOVE to have someone help me w/ a Droks run. When and where should we meet? (I'm probably not going to be available on Fri until about 9pm Pacific standard time, but I still wanna participate )

One other thing about the Droks run...how important is having Sup Vigor and Sup Absorption? I don't have either and I can make all the other runs perfectly fine (altho Elona's takes me a bit longer). Are they necessary for a Droks run?

As you know I can DO most runs I'm just not for sure that I can TEACH them. If you need I'd be willing to try. Also if we do teach do we need to teach your build or not?

Any help would be greatly appreciated with teaching others. Regarding my build however, I simply posted that as something I myself have used. There are many other possibilities and mine is just one of them that you could use as an example to get you started.

Regarding Superior Absorbtion and Vigor, I would highly recommend you using them as it will give you the best chance at succeeding with a difficult run. However, if money is tight for you right now, you will still benefit from the use of the Major runes of Absorbtion and Vigor.

I will share a few other options for your runner that have been shared with me as well as found on these very forums later this evening. They all use the same basic skillset such as Charge, Balanced Stance and Sprint the rest of the skills varying for healing and so on.

Here are the two builds I ran across on the forums here on GWG.

Charge{E}
Balanced Stance
Sprint
Smite Hex
Mend Ailment
Shields Up
Endure Pain
Healing Sig

And

Charge {E}
Sprint
Balanced Stance
Endure Pain
Holy Veil
Smite Hex
Purge Conditions
Mending

Again, small variances which are ultimately left up to you to decide what will work best in your situation. In the end though as mentioned before, timing, strategy and thinking on your feet will get the run done. Watching someone put these things into action will help immensely as it has for me countless times.

Did 4 Drok runs last night with the Holy Veil build... Seems to work out pretty well.

I'll catch you all tomorrow night (sunday) and we'll do some runs!
